As a Guild we are proud to be associated with Diss and the Waveney Valley area which has a rich background of both linen and wool spinning and weaving and, as we have recently discovered, dyeing!
We meet on the last Thursday of the month from 12.30 until 15.30, at the Methodist Church Hall in Diss (see below). We also have full day Workshops during the year and demonstrate at many local events. This year we were again part of Maker’s Month at the Forum, Norwich.
You are welcome to join the Guild or come to our meetings as a visitor (£3.00). Even if you don’t spin, weave or dye, you are welcome to join us and learn these skills. You can find out more about our Meetings and our Programme by following the links in the header above.
Please use the contact form for any questions and we will get back to you.
Our 2019 programme is now up to date.
Diss Guild members will be involved with the RBST East Anglia Wool Day at Melsop Park Farm on 31st August. The aim of the event is to connect wool producers and users. There will be talks, a buffet lunch, and a chance to enhance your fibre stash. Click here for more information.
Our next meeting is on on Thursday 25th of July, where we will be learning about growing and spinning cotton. Please bring along a wheel or spindle to have a go. The meeting will be at Diss Methodist Church in the Colin Riches room.
