Diss and District Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers
continuing 1000 years of textile heritage in South Norfolk

Diss and District Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers

As a Guild we are proud to be associated with Diss and the Waveney Valley area which has a rich background of both linen and wool spinning and weaving and, as we have recently discovered, dyeing!

We meet on the last Thursday of the month from 12.30 until 15.30, at the Methodist Church Hall in Diss (see below). We also have full day Workshops during the year and demonstrate at many local events. This year we have already taken part in Makers' Month at the Forum, Norwich. Later in the Spring, we are having our own 10-day exhibition at the newly-refurbished Corn Hall in Diss.

You are welcome to join the Guild or come to our meetings as a visitor (£3.00). Even if you don't spin, weave or dye, you are welcome to join us and learn these skills. You can find out more about our Meetings and our Programme by following the links on the left.

Please use the contact form for any questions and we will get back to you.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is on Thursday, 30th November, which will be the AGM.

We will also be looking at members' items for the Stashbuster Challenge. We hope there are lots willing to have a go as we must all have a stash!

What might you do if this came your way?

You can find out more about a typical meeting and our programme by following the links on the left, do use the contact form for any questions and we will get back to you.

How to find our new meeting venue

The address of Diss Methodist Church is Victoria Road, Diss. The Church gives IP22 3EY and Google gives IP22 4JG as postcodes – so check both. Coming from the west (or from Diss town centre) you come to a roundabout on the A1066, after the parade of shops take the first left; and you will come to the Methodist Church, which has ample parking.
